Oita Trinita wins J-League Cup

Daiki Takamatsu, twice capped for Japan, scored with twenty two minutes to lead ÅŒita to a 2-0 victory over Shimizu S-Pulse to capture the “Yamazaki Nabisco” League Cup. Trinita’s defending was in fine form and S-Pa could not get started, losing their second consecutive final. Nineteen year-old Mu Kanazaki continues to warrant a call-up to the Blue Samurai’s per his work in the ÅŒita midfield and created numerous scoring opportunities. As the match was winding down Brazilian veteran Ueslei added the second goal to bring the match to its final 2-0 score.
